Non Australian residents looking for contract work in Australia
If you just want to visit here's how

The first thing you need to arrange if you are serious about working in Australia is your visa, as to legally work in Australia on a temporary or more permanent basis you must hold a valid visa.  Unfortunately The SG Group cannot apply for the visa on your behalf.

Australia has reciprocal Working Holiday maker arrangements in effect with the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Malta, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China, Finland, the Republic of Cyprus, France and Italy, Belgium, Estonia and Taiwan.

Our speciality is in marketing recruitment therefore you must have the right visa and experience to be able to work on specialist contracts.

www.immi.gov.au is the website for DIMA and it provides you with a comprehensive guide to obtaining a visa.

The Working Holiday Visa (Sub Class 417) is valid for a one year period and allows you to work in Australia to supplement your holiday funds, although you can only work for any one employer for a period of up to six months in a calendar year.

The best time to arrive is March or August when there is normally a steady flow of work, whilst the market slows down from December through to the end of January as Australians enjoy their summertime.

Due to the fast turnaround nature of the freelance briefs we work on, we will not be able to secure you a role until you are actually in Australia, but we'd be happy to organise an interview for you with a consultant upon your arrival.

Once you have organised a visa and know when you will be arriving in Australia please click here and contact our Sydney office.
